The Afrikan Food Hall Live

The not-for-profit supermarket project has got off to a great start. A packed audience listened on and throughout Saturday 6th December 2014 people signed up for membership for £1. There was a discussion about food and health. Ackee and saltfish was served to eat during the event, then Sundjata rounded up the afternoon with a raffle for child victims of Ebola in Sierra Leone.

It may have been raining, but this did not deter thousands of people from attending the Notting Hill Carnival on bank holiday Monday. Jerk chicken is expected to be the best seller.

Following the parade of stunning dancers, musicians and brightly-colourled floats at Carnival, here are the video and pictures of children's day which featured Caribbean culture, food, music and dance

Chocolate Nation Mas float was followed by hundreds of people throwing liquid chocolate over themselves and the public as they danced through the streets.

There was food from Sierra Leone (Moyi Moyi and Rice Akara), Uganda, Ghana (Red Red), Trinidad and Tobago, Grenada, Eritrea, Jamaica, Nigeria (Jollof Rice), Barbados and Somalia. Nadia Maddy represented the Sierra Leone people in the house.
