Treacle Tart

Use shortcrust pastry and golden syrup


8 ounces
shortcrust pastry
8 ounces
golden syrup
3 ounces
1 1⁄4 teaspoon
ground ginger


How to make Treacle Tart?

1. Line a pie plate with pastry.
2. Warm the golden syrup in saucepan.
3. Stir in breadcrumbs and ginger and turn into pie plate.
4. Cut six strips of pastry from trimmings and criss cross the top of tart.
5. Bake at 400° for about 20 minutes.
