Sweet & Sour Beetroot


1 pound
beetroot, cooked
2 ounces
brown sugar
3 tablespoons
malt vinegar
3 tablespoons
orange juice
cinnamon (salt and pepper to taste)
2 teaspoons
cornflour (level)
cold water (dsrtsp)


How to make Sweet & Sour Beetroot?

1. Dice beetroot. Put sugar, vinegar and orange juice into saucepan and stand it over low heat until sugar dissolves.
2. Add beetroot, cinnamon, salt and pepper.
3. Mix cornflour to a smooth cream with cold water and add to beetroot mixture.
4. Cook, stirring continuously until mixture comes to a boil.
5. Simmer for 2 minutes, then serve either hot or cold.
