Chicken Paprika

In a heavy saucepan, heat the butter, add onion and garlic. Sauté until lightly browned.
Add the paprika and salt, stir, then add the chicken. Sauté lightly and remove the chicken. Add the tomato, sweet pepper and stock. Cover and simmer 10 minutes. Remove cover and add the chicken. Cover and cook until chicken is tender (20-30 minutes.) Add extra stock if needed to bring liquid to 11/4 cups broth. Remove chicken to serving dish and keep warm. Add the flour to the broth with the cream if you are using it, and stir until gravy thickens. Add the sour cream, then allow to simmer until heated through. DO NOT BOIL. Serve sauce either over chicken or separate. Serve chicken with noodles, rice or dumplings.
