Description

"Mai tai" is the Tahitian word for good. The drink was made famous by Trader Vic (Victor J. Bergeron) who created it one afternoon for some friends that were visiting his San Francisco restaurant from Tahiti. One of those friends tasted it and cried out: "Maitai roa ae!" (Literally "very good!"; and figuratively "Out of this world! The Best!"). Hence the name.
